Choosing a mattress
How do I know which mattress is right for me?
Choosing the right mattress comes down to your personal comfort, sleeping style, and support needs. Some people prefer a softer feel that gently contours to the body, while others prefer a firmer mattress with more support.
A few things to consider are:
- Sleeping position – Side, back, and stomach sleepers often have different comfort preferences.
- Comfort level – Think about whether you prefer a soft, medium, or firm feel.
- Support requirements – The right mattress should help keep your body properly supported throughout the night.
- Temperature preferences – Some mattress materials are designed to help regulate heat and airflow.
- Partner requirements – If you share a bed, factors like motion transfer and different comfort preferences may be important.
As comfort is highly personal, the best way to find the right mattress is to visit us in-store and try a range of options for yourself. Our team can discuss your needs and help guide you towards mattresses that suit your comfort and support preferences. There is no substitute for lying on a mattress and experiencing how it feels firsthand.

Returns, Exchanges & Warranties
Can I return or exchange my mattress?
Generally, we don’t accept returns or exchanges on mattresses once they’ve been purchased. However, we will gladly accept a return if the mattress is completely unopened, still sealed in its original packaging, and the packaging is completely undamaged.
Please note that if you qualify for a return under these conditions, you will be responsible for covering the shipping costs to send the item back to us.
- Mattresses cannot be returned once used for hygiene reasons (change of mind).
- Comfort preference (too soft, too firm, etc.) is not considered a fault and is not eligible for return or refund.
- This does not limit your rights under the CGA if the product is faulty or does not meet agreed specifi cations.
Can I return a mattress if I find it uncomfortable?
No, discomfort is not covered by our warranty, and we cannot accept returns or exchanges for mattresses simply because they aren’t the right feel for you—even if you bought it online without trying it first.
We know buying online can be tricky, which is why we always encourage customers to pop into their nearest store to test out our products before purchasing so you can find the exact match for your needs.
That said, we still want to hear from you! If you're struggling to get comfortable, please reach out to our team. While a return isn’t possible, we are more than happy to offer tips and advice to help you get a better night's sleep on your new mattress.
Can I return pillows or bedding?
For hygiene reasons, we generally cannot accept returns or exchanges on pillows, protectors, or other bedding once they have been opened, unless there is a manufacturer's warranty issue.
However, we will happily accept a return if the item is completely unopened and still sealed in its original packaging.
Please note that if you wish to return an unopened item, you will be responsible for covering the return shipping costs.
What happens if my product arrives damaged?
We kindly ask that you inspect your item as soon as it arrives—ideally right in front of the delivery driver so they can note any issues immediately.
We know this isn't always possible, though! If you discover damage later, please check the item as soon as you can, take clear photos of both the packaging and the damage itself, and email our support team at support@bedsandmore.nz or call 09 699 4050. We will review the details and guide you through the next steps.
What happens if I receive the wrong product?
If we accidentally sent you the wrong item, please email our support team at support@bedsandmore.nz or call us on 09 699 4050 right away. Be sure to include your order number and clear photos of what you received.
Once we confirm the error, we will quickly arrange to ship out the correct item and have the incorrect one collected—all at our own expense.
How do I make a warranty claim?
If you think your product has a defect, please email us at support@bedsandmore.nz with clear photos of the issue.
You will also need to provide your proof of purchase for the warranty to be valid. If you can't find yours, don't worry—let us know, and we will do everything we can to help you track it down!
Once we have the details and proof of purchase, we’ll look at the issue to see if it’s covered under warranty. In some cases, we may need to inspect the product in person or have you bring it into our factory for our team to take a look. After reviewing everything, we’ll let you know the next steps.
Please note: This process does not affect or replace any of your legal rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
